ROME, Ga. – LaGrange (0-14, 0-7 CCS) women's tennis could not keep pace with regular season champion and No. 1 Seed Piedmont (17-2, 2-0 CCS) as they dropped a 5-0 decision in the quarterfinals of the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Tournament and an NCAA women's tennis match on Thursday, April 27.

The Lions posted a dominant performance from start to finish, beginning with freshmen Abigail Fuller (Newnan, Ga.) and Nina Fischer dropping an 8-1 decision to Marion Sloyan and Dakota Wilkes at No. 3 doubles. PU would then take the No. 2 and No. 1 matches by 8-0 scores.

That 3-0 margin would quickly turn to a 5-0 final as Sloyan swept junior Journey Oden (Boaz, Ala.), 6-0, 6-0, at the top spot while Dannie Evans defeated junior Leila Moss (Suwanee, Ga.) 6-0, 6-1 to close it out.

LaGrange has now closed out the 2023 season, a campaign which featured the first two CCS Player of the Week awards, both earned by senior Hannah Miller (Jacksonville, Fla.) on April 4 and April 25.
