LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange (0-12, 0-7 CCS) women's tennis would take the early lead but could not hold it as Agnes Scott (4-10, 2-6 CCS) pulled out a 6-3 decision in an NCAA Division III women's tennis match on Saturday, April 22.

Seniors Hannah Miller (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Kirsten Boyd (Alabaster, Ala.) got things rolling with an 8-2 victory over Iris Ray and Katherine Cox at No. 1 doubles only to see a pair of close defeats in the next two matches. Junior Journey Oden (Boaz, Ala.) and freshman Nina Fischer fell 8-6 to Fabiola Garcia and Rosie Hagel at the two spot and senior Karson Troth (Marshall, Mo.) and freshman Abigail Fuller (Newnan, Ga.) dropped an 8-2 decision to Leilah Lewinson and Cyrus Lichtenstein at No. 3.

Cox would extend that lead to 3-1 with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Fischer at No. 5 to start singles before Miller kept the Panthers in in with a 6-1, 1-6, 6-0 win over Lewinson at the top spot. Back-to-back wins by Ray, 7-5, 6-3 over Oden at No. 2, and Lichtenstein, 6-4, 7-5 over Boyd, would then clinch the match for the Scotties.

Troth would notch a commanding 6-1, 6-3 decision over Garcia at No. 4 and Hagel would close things out with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Fuller at the six spot to round out the 6-3 victory.
