Men's Soccer: Panthers turn back Mississippi University for Women 3-0

LaGrange turned back Mississippi University for Women 3-0 on Tuesday at Panther Field. The win upped the Panthers' season record to 5-2, while the visiting Owls slipped to 1-3-2.

Senior forward Enrique Hernandez scored two goals and assisted on another to lead LC. Hernandez has a team-leading 10 goals and six assists on the season. Freshman forward added his sixth goal of the season and had an assist. Matthew Webb had an assist in the game.

Sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Cole recorded his fourth clean sheet of the season. Cole had three saves in the game. The Panthers outshot the Owls 19-8 in the game

Hernandez opened the scoring 13 minutes into the first half. Webb fed a through ball to Hernandez, who dribbled past a defender and put his shot into the far corner for a 1-0 lead.

The Panthers maintained the advantage into the second half. LC put the game out of reach with two goals in a one minute span. Duke fed Hernandez for his second goal in the 62nd minute. The pair combined on the next goal, with Duke doing the scoring off an assist from Hernandez

The Panthers are on the road Saturday at Maryville for a CCS game. They return home on Sunday for a non-conference game with Berry.
