It was an impressive debut for the women's soccer team, which eased past ABAC 8-1 in a preseason game on Saturday afternoon.
The game was part of Panther Pride Day, which also included the Team Pres vs. Team AD intra-squad football game at Callaway Stadium.
At Panther Field, the Panthers tuned up for the start of the regular season with a dominant performance.
The Panthers were up 5-0 at the half, and they continued to pour it on in the second half.
LaGrange will open its season this weekend with a pair of games in Jacksonville, Fla. before making its home regular-season debut against Oglethorpe on Sept. 10.
LaGrange will play Edward Waters University on Friday at 3 p.m., and it will finish its Florida swing with a game against Trinity Baptist on Saturday at 3 p,m.
The games will be played during what will likely be the hottest time of the day, and Head Coach Kennet Fosuhene felt it was important for the players to get accustomed to performing in those conditions.
"It was to get our fitness level up, and in truth get ready for next week," said Fosuhene. "We played at 2 p.m., and that's going to ultimately prepare us for Florida when we play at 3 p.m. It'll be in the heat of the day against a team from Florida."
One of the Panther newcomers, freshman Madison Drobisch, excelled in her college debut by scoring four goals against ABAC.
Briana Suarez added two goals, and Jordan Alexis and Kaia King contributed one goal apiece.
The Panthers are coming off a 2021 season where they went 5-6-1 overall, and 3-4-1 in the USA South.
The Panthers have made the transition to the Collegiate Conference of the South for the 2022 season, and they're looking for big things in the weeks and months ahead.
"I'm excited," Fosuhene said. "We should be good. We should be well-improved."
