Tonight, Nichols, Moss and McCall all excelled in the Panthers 83-76 CCS win over Belhaven.
First half details
The beginning of today's game was neck and neck. In the first ten minutes, the score was 20-20 and there were already four lead changes and was tied four different times. LC was finally able to break away from Belhaven and go up 30-22 after a 10-2 run. The highlight of the opening half occurred when Brodie Scott secured a steal, delivered a pass to Cameron Lyons and subsequently, during the possession, found an unguarded Scott beyond the arc, for him to sink a three. This series had the Panther bench on their feet and forced a Belhaven time-out. LC led 39-36 at the half.
Shaun Nichols led the Panthers in scoring with 10 points, while shooting 57% from the field and 100% from three.
Second half details
The second half continued to be as competitive as the first. For the first ten minutes, both teams traded points. The best play of the half happened when Kameron McCall drove towards the basket, hit a hard step back and scored his sixteenth point of the game. The game was close to the very end, but the Panthers were able to pull away slightly after Belhaven missed multiple late shots. LC was able to hold on to their small lead and secure an 83-76 win over the Blazers.
