The Panthers take on two tough teams this weekend in the Huntingdon College Classic (Nov. 11-12).
Matchups
The Panthers are 1-0 in regular season games and are coming off of a 98-85 win over Birmingham-Southern (Nov. 8). Senior guard Cam Lyons scored a team-high 21 points shooting 54% from field goal, 33% from three and 80% from the free throw line. Lyons also accounted for two assists, two steals and three rebounds.
Millsaps College is 0-2 in the two exhibitions played and most recently lost to University of New Orleans 100-70 (Nov. 6). The leading scorer for Millsaps so far this year is freshman guard Cameron Lumar. In the two exhibitions, he has averaged 13 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Sophomore Dakota Gasca is the lead scorer returning for Millsaps. During his freshman year, he played in 25 games and averaged an impressive 23.5 points per contest.
Centenary College is 1-0 and are coming off of a 89-72 victory over Texas College (Nov. 8). Seth Thomas led the team in points (20), rebounds (9) and assists (7).
Series history
LaGrange College is 3-5 overall against Millsaps College but the Panthers won the most recent matchup 68-67 (Nov. 13, 2022). Then sophomore Kyle Smith made the most points (13) for returning Panthers, shooting 67% from FG and 33% behind the arc. The forward also grabbed three rebounds against Millsaps. Then freshman forward Rodney Phillips Jr. scored a team-high 14 points for returning players for Millsaps. Phillips shot 71% from the field and made the lone three he took. This will be the first game LaGrange College has faced Centenary College in recent history.
When and where to watch
The games are held in Montgomery, Ala. at Huntingdon College's arena. LC plays Millsaps at 6 p.m. on Nov. 11. The following day (Nov. 12), the Panthers take on Centenary College at 3 p.m. Both games will be available to stream here.
