The men's team takes on Rhodes College on Saturday (Dec. 16) at 2 p.m. The following day (Dec. 17), the Panthers play Sewanee at 2 p.m.
The teams
The Panthers are currently 7-2 and are coming off of a 76-65 win over Point (Dec. 6). Freshman guard Samuel Moss has averaged a team-high 15.6 points, while shooting 39% from the field and 41% from three. The three-time CCS Rookie of the Week also averages four rebounds and two assists per game. Rhodes College are 4-4 and most recently beat Huntingdon College 109-89 (Dec. 3). Phil Dotson leads Rhodes in scoring with 26.9 points per game, shooting 42% from the field and 44% from beyond the arc. Sewanee University is 3-5 and in their last game they beat Covenant College 63-60 (Dec. 6). Russ Marr leads the Tigers in scoring with 15.4 points per game, shooting 37% from the field and 29% from three.
The series
The Panthers are 1-1 all time against Rhodes College. LC won 80-77 the last time the two teams played (Nov. 18, 2018). LC 8-5 against Sewanee and when the last two teams met, the Panthers won 81-75 (Dec. 29, 2022).
What to watch for
As you might have noticed, the three teams have not played a game for at least ten days. Watch for if and how this break from competition affects how the squads begin each game.
