MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Montevallo handed LaGrange its first loss of the season, beating the Panthers 112-78 on Tuesday night. The NCAA Division II Falcons (1-2) picked up their first win of the season. The teams were meeting for the first time since the 1973-74 season.
Kyle Brown led LC with 19 points. Brown was 8-of-10 from the floor and made all three of his free throws. Cooper Dolhancyk had 11 points and Bershard Edwards added 10. Freshman Isaiah Oden, playing in his first game, had eight points in five minutes of play. Zac Hill also had eight points. 12 of the 13 Panthers who got in the game scored.
Montevallo did not trail in the game. The Falcons made 13 of their first 16 shots in building a quick 20-7 lead. The Falcons led 63-32 at the break, shooting 67.6 percent.
In the second half, the Panthers stayed with the Falcons. LC shot an even 50% in the half and 46.7% for the game. The Panthers made 7-of-13 3-pointers in the second half.
The game was the first of seven straight on the road for LC. The Panthers take on Oglethorpe on Saturday at Berry College and the host Vikings on Sunday.
