The Panthers take on the Scots of Covenant and Piedmont Lions this weekend in the final two regular season home games. The Covenant game is this Friday (Feb. 9) at 7 p.m. and then the following day (Feb. 10) the Panthers play Piedmont at 4 p.m.
The teams
The Panthers are 13-9 (5-4 CCS) and are coming off of an 87-69 win over Berea (Feb. 3). In that game, Kameron McCall scored a team-high 27 points. Brodie Scott secured a double-double against Berea after scoring 14 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. On the season, freshman Samuel Moss has averaged a team-high 17.5 points per game. The Scots of Covenant are 4-17 (0-8 CCS) and most recently lost to Piedmont 83-56 (Feb. 6). Sophomore guard David Compere leads the Scots in scoring with 13.1 points per game. The Lions are 11-10 (2-6 CCS) and are coming off an 83-56 win over Covenant (Feb. 6). Graduate student Ryan Jolly has averaged a team-high 20.9 points per game for the Lions this year.
Recent history
The Panthers have faced both of these teams once this year and they lost to Piedmont 106-103 (Jan. 5) and beat Covenant 96-59 (Jan. 6). In the game against the Lions, Samuel Moss scored a team-high 27 points, shooting 53% from the field and 44% from three. The game's full box score can be viewed here. Senior day
Saturday's game against the Lions of Piedmont is senior day since it is the last home regular season game. The team will be celebrating Zac Hill, Cam Lyons, Gabriel Cofield and Grant Evans.
When and where to watch
The game against Covenant is this Friday (Feb. 9), at 7 p.m. The following day (Feb. 10), the team takes on Piedmont for the final home game of the 2023-24 season. The senior day matchup begins at 4 p.m. Both games can be streamed here.
