Men's basketball travels to Tennessee to take rematch Maryville this Friday (Feb. 2). The game tips off at 7 p.m. and can be streamed here.
The teams
The Panthers are 12-8 (4-3 CCS) and coming off of a tight 73-70 home win over the Belhaven Blazers (Jan. 24). In that game, freshman guard Samuel Moss scored a team-high 33 points, while shooting 58% from the field. The Georgia native has averaged a team-high 17.6 points per game. This ties him with Maryville's junior guard Lou Kemp for the second-highest points per game average in the CCS. The Scots of Maryville are 14-5 (6-1 CCS) and most recently crushed Covenant 77-55 (Jan. 23). Prior to the game against the Panthers, Maryville will play Piedmont (Jan. 30). As mentioned, Lou Kemp has averaged a team-high 17.6 points per game this season.
