A fourth-quarter surge carried Brevard over the LaGrange College Football team 24-10 on Saturday.
The game started slowly for both teams, as they struggled to find points. A first quarter Brevard touchdown was the only difference as the Panthers entered halftime down 10-3.
The second half started off well for the Panthers, with LaGrange scoring on a 24-yard pass from Shedrick Lindsey to All-American Tight End De'Queze Fryer. The game was tied entering the final period.
The fourth quarter, however, did not go well for LaGrange, as Brevard outscored the Panthers 14-0 to take a 24-10 win.
Lindsey threw for 243 yards and a touchdown on a season-high 42 attempts, while also throwing two interceptions. The Panthers were led on the ground by Jaydon Cooper, as he rushed for 40 yards on five carries. Fryer led LC on the receiving front, racking up season highs in catches and yards, with seven for 89 and a touchdown.
The defense held their own through three quarters, and while giving up 14 in the fourth quarter, they held Brevard under 25 points for the first time this season. Klynell Johnson led the team with eight tackles, three solo.
LC , now 1-5 on the season, will hit the road at Belhaven next week as they look for a conference win.
