The LaGrange softball team had three players earn USA South post season honors. Juniors Abbey Gardner and Maggie White were selected to the USA South West Division second team. Freshman Kenzie Hornsby represented LC on the All-Sportsmanship team.
Gardner is the designated player on the second team. She was on the second team last year as an at-large player. Gardner led the team with three home runs and 21 RBIs, while batting .354. She also had a team-best .500 slugging percentage. Gardner had two hits, including a double, and four RBIs in a 10-5 Game 2 win over Berea on April 9. In the circle, she was 5-9 with a 4.65 ERA. She pitched in 22 games with 11 starts and seven complete games.
White made the second team as an outfielder. She split time between right field, appearing in 19 games, and catcher, where she played in 18 games. White led the team with an .397 batting average, 116 at-bats, 46 hits, and an on-base percentage of .470. She went 4-for-4 with a double and a triple in the first game against Brevard on March 26. White had six hits in a doubleheader against Hendrix on March 22. She had four RBIs in Game 2 of that doubleheader.
Hornsby batted .304 in 32 games with a home run and 10 RBIs. She hit the home run in a 9-7 loss to Covenant in Game 2 of a doubleheader on March 25.
