MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Huntingdon broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth and went on to a 6-3 win over LaGrange at Posey Field on Saturday. It was the fourth straight loss for the Panthers, now 7-10 overall and 1-4 in the USA South.
James Poropatic had three hits and scored two runs. McKinley Erves and Jack Layrisson each had two hits. The trio accounted for seven of LC's nine hits in the game. Jackson Patrick drove in two runs with a sacrifice fly and on a ground out. The Panthers got a run in the first when Erves scored on a wild pitch. Patrick's sacrifice fly in the fourth made it 2-0. Huntingdon (10-4, 2-0 USA South) answered with a three-run fourth off Colin Barrett (3-3). Patrick's ground out in the sixth brought Porpatic home for the second time to tie the game. The Hawks came back in the bottom of the sixth with another three-run inning to go up for good, 6-3.
The two teams conclude their three-game series Sunday.
