Freshman Gibson Bittner was selected to the D3baseball.com All-South Region third team as a relief pitcher. Bittner was on the USA South All-Conference second team.
The Arcadia, Florida native was 6-2 with a team and USA South best 1.45 earned run average for the 2018 season. He was second on the team with 23 appearances, making one start and had two saves. He had 52 strikeouts in 56 innings of working, averaging a team-best 8.36 strikeouts per game. In his only start of the season against Oglethorpe on March 27, Bittner threw four scoreless innings and struck out a season-high seven in getting the win.
