The LaGrange College Athletic Department presented academic awards to student-athletes for the 2017-18 academic year in ceremonies Tuesday in Callaway Auditorium.
Senior baseball player Jackson Patrick received the Dr. Malcolm Shackelford Award, given to the senior male student-athlete with the higest grade point average. Patrick has been a four-year letterman for the Panther baseball team. He has earned USA South Academic All-Conference honors four times and has been on the Vice-President of Academic Affairs honors list. Patrick is a exercise science major and will graduate magna cum laude with a 3.809 GPA. After graduation, he will work as a physical therapist technician at Emory Sports Medicine Complex in Atlanta while applying to physical therapy schools.
