Captains for 2010 season announcedThe 2010 captains for the
LaGrange College football team were announced by head coach Todd
Mooney. Seniors Devin Billings and Drew
Carter will serve as team captains for the upcoming
season.
Billings, a wide receiver from High Springs, Fla., was second on
the team in 2009 with 37 receptions. He had 337 receiving yards and
scored five touchdowns. Billings was the team's offensive player of
the week twice in 2009. He has 67 catches for 667 yards and 10
touchdowns in his career.
Carter, a Dalton, Ga. native, has been the Panthers' starting
quarterback for the past three seasons. Last season, Carter threw
for 1,847 yards and 11 touchdowns in nine games. He holds most of
the Panther passing records. Carter has thrown for 5,689 yards and
49 touchdowns in his career. During the 2008 season, he set 19
individual game and season records in leading the Panthers to a 9-2
record and a berth in the NCAA Division III national playoffs.
