LaGrange student-athlete academic awards were presented in ceremonies Thursday in the Mariotti Gymnasium. The awards were presented by athletic director Phil Williamson.
Senior George Lankford was one of two student-athletes presented the school's Eagle Award. The award is given annually to the student-athlete who has overcome adversity and excelled as a student, as a athlete and in the community.
Lankford along with fellow senior Ben Crumbley were awarded the Malcom Shackelford Academic Award given to the male student-athlete with the highest overall grade point average. Crumbley had a 3.82 GPA, while Langford had a 3.81 GPA. Both Crumbley and Langford are mathematics majors.
Crumbley and Lankford were both four-year lettermen for the Panthers.
