MACON, Ga.- LaGrange rolled over Wesleyan 95-20 in a USA South game Wednesday in Porter Gym. The Panthers won their second straight to up their record to 13-11 overall and 7-8 in conference play. LC swept the season series from the Wolves (0-24, 0-15 USA South), winning 89-14 on Jan. 16.
Senior Marilauren Farr and sophomore Nadia Montour tied career highs in the game. Farr led all scorers with 27 points, while Montour followed with 14. Megan English had 11 points and Mykelli Taylor 10.
"Good team win tonight and a chance to get everyone some good playing minutes. We shot the ball really well from the 3-pt line for the second game in a row," said Coach Lee Buchanan. "Once again we had real good inside-outside scoring balance. Marilauren had a real good shooting night as did Nadia on the inside. Then we had five different players hit threes from the outside.
"Our defense was solid as well tonight and turned into a lot of offense for us. I was pleased how well we shared the ball as well with 24 assists. The team has done a nice job of working hard and preparing for each game the right way. They continue to work and improve each day and we are getting contributions from many different players."
LC never trailed, leading 22-2 after one quarter and 39-6 at halftime. The Panthers nearly totaled their first half production in the third period, scoring 36 points.
The Panthers shot a season-high 55.4 percent in the game, including hitting 10-of-20 3-point attempts. They had a season-low nine turnovers and forced 34 turnovers by the Wolves, leading to 46 points.
The Panthers close out the regular season at Covenant on Saturday in a USA South game.
