Simons Pettit opened the scoring in the 21st minute, and then tacked on another goal 10:58 into the second half. With 21:31 remaining in regulation, Covenant took a 3-0 lead. Tori Deen ended the scoring during the 89th minute.
FRESHMAN SPOTLIGHT:
Leia Avery, Nikki Longmoore and Lauren Williamson started Saturday and competed at a high level. The three student-athletes battled for every 50-50 ball and played with 100% effort.
Williamson has started all four games in 2021 and shown great potential in the midfield. She has elite field vision, great instincts and a knack for transitioning the team smoothly from defense to offense.
Moss leads the Panthers with 20 saves this season. In her first collegiate start, she turned aside a career-high nine shots at Piedmont on Wednesday.
Anna Brown has shown her playmaking skills and goal-scoring ability. She buried her first collegiate goal in a 3-1 season-opening win over Berea at Callaway Stadium on Feb. 13.
UP NEXT:
The Panthers will host Huntingdon Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Panther Field.
