The LC men's golf team has made their return to the links to prepare for the fast-approaching season. The team opens up with The Savannah Invitational on March 11-12.
Following the success in the fall tournaments, the 2024 spring season is shaping up to be an exciting one for the Panther golf program. Head Coach Shannon Lipham is in his fourth year as the program's leader. It was recently announced that Coach Lipham will also be taking over the new women's golf program, which is set to begin next fall.
One player to pay attention to is sophomore Jeremy Edmunds. In the fall, Edmunds led the Panthers in multiple tournaments and even earned CCS Player of the Week when he placed 13 out of 96 players in the West Pines Collegiate Invitational (Oct. 2-3, 2023). He also earned a spot on the CCS First Team All-Conference list in 2022-23. Freshman Jay Manley is another player to watch out for. Manley was named CCS Rookie of the Week in the same tournament as Edmunds. The freshman finished tied at 13th place with his fellow Panther, which pushed the team to a 5th place finish in the invitational. Although the team is on the younger side, the program is full of talent. It should be exciting to see how things shake out this spring.
