BUENA VISTA, Va. - Southern Virginia beat LaGrange 25-8 in a USA South game Saturday. The loss left the Panthers 3-5 overall and 0-1 in conference play. The Knights improved to 4-2 and 2-0 in the conference.
Aidan Story had three goals to lead LC. Will Howell had two goals, while Jack Bryan, Michael Poteete, and Selassie Richardson had a goal apiece. Bryan and Richardson each had an assist. The Knights had six players score three goals each.
Southern Virginia took control of the game in the first quarter. The Knights ran out to a 6-0 lead, before Story got LC on the board with a goal with 1:33 left in the period.
The Knights led 12-3 at halftime. They put the game out of reach in the third quarter with nine more goals. Story, Howell, and Bryan scored the final period for the Panthers.
LC plays at Huntingdon on Wednesday in a USA South game at 8 p.m. EDT.
