Pfeiffer pulled away from LaGrange in the second half for a 20-11 USA South win Saturday at Panther Field. The Panthers slipped to 6-7 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
Ben Bryan scored three goals for the Panthers. Michael Poteete and Aidan Story had two goals each, while Josh Hill, Selassie Richardson, Ryan Comeau, and Peyton Gale had one goal each. Issac Bohrer had 25 saves in goal.
Pfeiffer (10-2, 6-1 USA South) got six goals from Brayden Sokolowski and five from Quinn Becraft.
The Panthers jumped out to a 3-1 lead midway through the first quarter. Story scored the game's first goal, then Bryan and Hill scored back-to-back in less than a minute.
The Falcons came back to score the final five goals of period and the first two of the second quarter to take an 8-3 lead. Richardson, Comeau, and Bryan answered for the Panthers to make it 8-6. Pfeiffer scored before the half to take a 9-6 lead.
In the third quarter, Poteete's second goal with an assist from Jack Bryan got LC within three, 10-7. It was as close as the Panthers would get. The Falcons took a 15-9 lead into the final quarter. Bryan's third goal of the game and Gale's closed out the Panthers scoring.
The Panthers play at Piedmont on Wednesday in a USA South game.
