ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Junior forward Jaydon Parrish of the LaGrange College men's soccer team recorded his first collegiate hat trick in the opening 21:22 during a 6-0 victory at Warren Wilson Friday.

Freshman Sean Carter and sophomore Ricky Hammett scored their first collegiate goals for the Panthers (2-0). Junior Austin Anderson, who picked up his first assist in a Panther uniform during a 3-2 win at Pensacola Christian on Sept. 4, tallied his second career goal for LC Friday. Junior goalkeeper Lucas Wright earned his first collegiate shutout and eighth win, stopping all five shots by the Owls (0-1).

Senior defender Alex Tucker picked up his first collegiate assist on LC's fifth goal, while junior midfielder Blake Webb assisted on the second goal.

"It was a great team effort that was showcased by the score line," said LaGrange College Men's Soccer Head Coach Ryan Dickson. "Jaydon put in an excellent performance to get a hat trick, and everyone got crucial minutes to help us get the win. Some players were also able to get their first collegiate goals, which is a great confidence booster for us."

Parrish scored his three goals in a span of 3:25, giving LC a 3-0 advantage during the 22nd minute. A goal by Hammett with 4:19 remaining in the first half sent the Panthers into intermission with a four-goal lead.

Anderson and Carter scored 56 seconds apart in the 69th and 70th minutes, respectively, pushing LaGrange's cushion to 6-0. Wright made all five of his stops in the first half, including three in a 19-second span during the first seven minutes.

Parrish's four shots were tied for the most in the game and he led all players with three shots on goal. Hammett finished with three shots and two on target. LaGrange led the shots category, 25-11, holding advantages of 18-10 and 7-1 in the first and second half, respectively.

The last meeting between the Panthers and Owls occurred on Sept. 23, 2018, in Asheville, as LC won by an identical score of 6-0. Asher Hendon (2 goals) and Noah Stanford (1 goal) scored their first collegiate goals, while Dawson Davis (2 assists) tallied his first career point. LaGrange and Warren Wilson will meet in a 2 p.m. senior-day game at Panther Field on Oct. 24.

The last Panther to tally a hat trick was Enrique Hernandez. He accomplished the feat during a 3-2 season-ending win over Piedmont on March 26. Errick Sturm '20, who ranks first in program history in career goals (35) and second in points (76), scored four hat tricks.

The Panthers will travel to Piedmont for a 2 p.m. non-conference game Sunday in Demorest, Georgia.
