LaGrange picked up its first win of the season with a split of a doubleheader against visiting Judson on Thursday. The Panthers (1-7) took the first game 6-5, while Judson won the second game 10-0.
In the first game, Emily Barrs had two hits, including a home run, scored two runs and drove in three runs. Adrienne Little also had two hits, while Amber Arnold added a double. The Panthers had 10 hits in the game.
LaGrange took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Barrs and Little each had run-scoring single, while Arnold walked to force in the third run of the inning.
The Panthers upped their lead to 6-0 in the fifth inning. Barrs' second home run of the season, a two run shot to center highlighted the inning.
Chelsea Twardoski (1-2) pitched six innings to get the win. She allowed four runs, only two were earned, walked none and struck out five. Katelyn Little gave up an unearned run in the seventh and recorded her first save.
The Panthers host Piedmont and Salem on Saturday and Sunday in USA South doubleheader.
