Chelsea Twardoski's walk-off hit gave LaGrange a 4-3 Senior Day win over Wesleyan on Sunday at the LC Softball Complex. Seniors Adrienne Little and Grayson West were honored before the game.
The Panthers (12-21) took a 3-1 lead into the top of the seventh. Savanna Boyette tied the game for Wesleyan (6-29) with a two-out two-run single off Twardoski.
In the bottom of the inning, McKenzie Brunel led off by beating out an infield single. She moved up to second on Taylor Tallent's fly out. Twardoski followed with the game-winning hit to right center as Brunel came around to score.
Twardoski (10-13) went the distance on the mound. She scattered seven hits, walked one and struck out seven.
The Wolves took a 1-0 lead on Alyssa Flowers' home run in the second inning. The Panthers tied the game in the third. Emily Barr's sacrifice fly drove in Amber Arnold, who had walked to start the inning.
LaGrange built its 3-1 lead with a run in the fourth and another in the sixth. Sydney Hodorff had an RBI single in the fourth and a run-scoring double in the sixth.
In addition to Hodorff, Brunel, and Maegan Harrison each had two hits. The Panthers finished with nine hits.
