ROME, Ga. - The LaGrange golf team concluded its fall schedule with a 10th place finish at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational. The Panthers had a two-day total of 608 over the Stonebridge Golf Club par 72 course.
"A lot of credit goes to the guys. There was a lot of uncertainty going into this fall for them," said Coach Shannon Lipham on his first fall with the Panthers. "They bought in to what we were trying to do from the start. We improved tremendously from our first tournament in Tunica to our last tournament in Rome.
"Seniors Jay Adams and Thomas Bird have been fantastic leaders, I'm very lucky to have them. I am so excited for what this spring holds for us. Our future is very bright!"
Freshman Luke Jarvis tied for 14th in the individual standings to lead LC. Jarvis had a personal low round of the fall in the first round, shooting a 1-under par 71. The highlight of the round was an eagle 3 on the par 5 14th hole. Jarvis shot a final round 75 for a tournament total of 146.
Jarvis was followed by Adams and Bird. Adams had a team low round of 74 in the second round and had a tournament total of 151. Bird was one shot back of Adams, shooting rounds of 73 and 79. Freshmen Alex Orda (159) and Connor Gillispie (188) rounded out LC's scoring.
