JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - The LaGrange golf team is fifth at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate after shooting its best round of the spring. The Panthers had a 2-under par total of 278 over the par 70 Paradise Point Scarlet Course.
Freshman Luke Jarvis shot a personal season best 3-under par 67 to lead the Panthers. Jarvis is tied for fifth in the individual standings. He had four birdies against only one bogey in his round.
Senior Jay Adams and grad student Chase Thompson both posted even par rounds of 70. Adams posted three birdies on the back nine to finish his round. Thompson had an up and down round that was highlighted by an eagle 3 on the par 5 16th hole. Connor Gillespie had a 1 over par round of 71 and Alexander Oda an 81 to round out the Panthers' scoring.
The Panthers will play the second round on the par 72 Paradise Point Gold Course on Saturday.
