LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange (1-1, 0-0 CCS) softball continues their four-game season-opening homestand as they host NAIA member Reinhardt (1-1, 0-0 AAC) in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday, February 8.
The Panthers come in having split a doubleheader with Sewanee (2/4), winning the opener 6-4 before dropping an 8-7 decision in eight innings. The Eagles began their season in similar fashion with a split with Middle Georgia State (2/5). They dropped the first game by a 6-2 score and narrowly claimed the second by a 2-1 margin.
SERIES HISTORY
In a series that dates back to 2008, LaGrange trails the Eagles 10-0. However, the clubs have not played since back-to-back shutout losses (3-0 and 6-0) in 2012. Those are two of five shutouts in the series with the Panthers coming closest to a victory when they fell by a 4-3 margin in 2009.
