LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange (6-12, 0-0 CCS) softball returns to action with their long-awaited Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) debut when they head nearly 2,000 feet above sea level to take on Covenant (6-9, 0-0 CCS) in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 18. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m. in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
The Panthers hit the road having split a double header with Meredith (3/11), notching a 9-1 victory in the opener and falling 10-3 in the night cap while the Scots have lost three of their last four. They dropped a doubleheader at Transylvania (3/8) by scores of 6-2 and 7-3 before splitting against Rhodes (3/16). They would win the opener 6-5 before falling 6-2 in the latter.
SERIES HISTORY
LaGrange holds a 13-11 advantage over Covenant, dating back to the first meeting between the programs in 2011. The Panthers opened with nine wins in the first 10 meetings through the 2015 season but have lost the last four since the 2021 campaign. Most recently they dropped a home doubleheader by scores of 5-2 and 9-7 on March 25, 2022.
