LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange (2-6, 0-0 CCS) softball faces an early season test as they travel to No. 5 Berry (3-1, 0-0 SAA) for a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday, February 22.
The Panthers come in having dropped three of their last four, a stretch that began with an 8-6 victory at No. 19 Birmingham-Southern (2/12). They dropped the nightcap 10-2 in five innings before dropping a 4-3 decision in 11 innings at Emory (2/18) and 12-3 in the second game.
Berry opened the year with a 7-1 and 7-3 sweep of Covenant (2/14) before splitting with No. 6 Belhaven (2/18) on the road. They took the opener 5-4 before falling 6-1 in the nightcap.
SERIES HISTORY
LaGrange trails the all-time series 11-10 against Berry, dating to an 8-7 victory in 2010. That would be the first of five straight victories and wins in eight of the first nine. The Vikings notched two separate three-game win streaks before posting their current series long four-game stretch dating from 2015. The most recent was a 7-2 decision in 2018.
