LAGRANGE, Ga. – LaGrange (11-21, 5-9 CCS) softball will close out the regular season with one last Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) doubleheader as they head to Wesleyan (4-21, 2-8 CCS) on Friday, April 20. First pitch for the twinbill is set for 3 p.m. in Macon, Georgia.
The Panthers come in having dropped a doubleheader at home to Piedmont, falling 11-2 and 11-1 on Sunday, April 16 and fell in the late innings, 4-2 and 5-4, in both games at Maryville (4/18).
Wesleyan comes in having dropped their last seven, dropping doubleheaders to Maryville (7-0 and 14-0 on 4/2), Agnes Scott (10-3 and 11-1 on 4/5) and Covenant (10-0 and 4-3 on 4/15) and fell 4-3 at NCAA Division II Fort Valley on Tuesday, April 18 in their most recent outing.
SERIES HISTORY
LaGrange holds a commanding 55-8 lead over Wesleyan in the all-time series, which dates to the beginning of an incredible 43-game winning streak. That stretch would run through 2003 and since then it has been more even with the Panthers holding only a 12-8 margin in that time. Recently the Wolves have taken five of the last six since a 6-2 win in 2021, a streak that includes 7-1 and 9-1 wins on April 16, 2022 in their last meeting
