The LaGrange College women's basketball team will look to earn its first USA South victory of the 2021-22 season Wednesday, as the Panthers will make the journey to Decatur, Georgia, for a 7 p.m. game against Agnes Scott.

"This will be a good test for us," said LaGrange College Women's Basketball Head Coach Jasen Jonus. "We need to be more consistent and value every possession. I am thrilled with the team's passion and desire. We have a lot of mentally tough players on this team and the sky is the limit moving forward."

The Panthers (3-4, 0-1 USA South) have utilized the same starting lineup in all seven games, featuring guards Jalaya Lewis, Gracie Brunel and Jada Brown, forward Megan English and center Jada Strickland.

Lewis and Brunel are each averaging team-highs of 16.1 points, tied for the seventh most in the USA South. Lewis has scored 17 or more points in each of her last five games. During an 80-72 season-opening win over Oglethorpe on Nov. 6, Brunel finished with 22 points, four made 3-pointers, four rebounds and four steals on her way to earning LaGrange College Athlete of the Week honors.

Brown is averaging 6.3 points and 6.3 rebounds. She has pulled down seven or more boards four times. English finished with eight points and buried two treys in a 73-68 triumph over then-No. 25-ranked Millsaps on Nov. 14. Strickland, who is averaging a team-leading 6.9 rebounds, tallied her first collegiate double-double with career-highs of 14 points and 12 boards in the win over Oglethorpe.

LaGrange's freshman class has delivered immediate energy off the bench. Britney Chavez, Kendra Roberts, Bryanna Sanders, Ema Turner and Bobbi Whitaker are averaging a combined 15.9 points and 11.1 rebounds.

Breonna Glover, Nia Johnson and Karson Troth have provided LC with strong post play. During a conference game at Berea on Nov. 20, Glover recorded season-highs of 10 points and six rebounds. Johnson scored four points on 2-of-2 shooting from the field during a 66-57 victory over Emory on Nov. 10 in Mariotti Gym. Hayleigh Reeves connected on a 3-point shot in the triumph over Oglethorpe.

LC is 33-7 all-time against Agnes Scott, including winning 22 straight games in the rivalry dating back to 2009. The Panthers swept the visiting Scotties by scores of 106-25 and 94-20 last season. The 81-point win was the largest margin of victory by the Panthers in the series.

Kayla Jones and Taylor Brooks have led the way this season for the Scotties (0-7, 0-2), averaging 7.6 and 7.0 points, respectively. YaMea Elliot-Allen is averaging 5.0 points and a team-best 5.0 rebounds.
