DEMOREST, Ga. - A slow start doomed LaGrange in a 96-57 loss to Piedmont on Saturday afternoon in the Cave Arena. The loss ended the three-game winning streak for the Panthers, now 11-7 overall and 6-3 in the USA South.
Junior Breonna Glover led LC with a career high 16 points. Jalaya Lewis and and Ema Turner had 11 points each. Gracie Brunel, the Panthers' leading scorer, was held to seven points.
Livia Skinner had a game-high 18 points for Piedmont (12-3, 6-1 USA South). Nakiyah Washington added 15 points and Nae-Nae Eades 10. All 13 Lady Lions who played got in the scoring column.

"Very tough road loss, we have to find ways to get better especially when we play back-to-back games. We had so many little mistakes that kept adding up until it was too late. We let the adversity of the officials and the physical play get into our heads early and didn't respond well."
The Game
Piedmont raced to a 33-8 lead in the first quarter. The Lady Lions scored the game's first 12 points. Jalaya Lewis' bucket four minutes into the game got LC on the scoreboard. The Panthers turned the ball over on eight straight possessions and had 13 turnovers in the period. Piedmont had 19 points off the Panther miscues. The Panthers got their offense untracked with 20 second period points. Piedmont though continued to build on its lead. The Lady Lions led 62-28 at halftime. The Panthers came into the game giving up 63 points per game. The Panthers scored the first seven points of the third quarter, but got no closer the rest of the game. It was Piedmont's eighth straight win over the Panthers.
The Panthers are off until Feb. 1 when they go on the road to play Wesleyan for the second time this season. LC won the first meeting 84-28 on Jan. 3.
