After averaging 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 4.5 steals during a 2-0 week for the Panthers, junior guard Gracie Brunel of the LaGrange College women's basketball team was named USA South Player of the Week by the conference office Monday.
Brunel earned her first USA South weekly honor, as she guided the Panthers (7-5, 2-1 USA South) to a 73-45 victory over Mississippi University for Women Tuesday and a 77-73 win against Bridgewater State Sunday.

Brunel scored 19 of her game-high 24 points in the second half against the Owls in Mariotti Gym. The Broxton, Georgia, native shot 7 of 9 from the field and 5 for 7 on 3-pointers in the final 20 minutes.
She finished the game with a career-high six made 3-pointers, which are tied for the seventh most in a single game in program history. Brunel went 4 of 4 from deep in the fourth quarter. Brunel tallied a game-high five assists, to go along with five rebounds and three steals.
During the game against the Bears in St. Petersburg, Florida, Brunel tallied a game-best 19 points and recorded a career and game-leading six steals. She scored 10 points in the third quarter on 5 of 7 shooting from the field.
Brunel is averaging 17.1 points per game this season, the fifth most in the USA South. She has scored double figures in 11-of-12 games and 22 or more four times.
