This Tuesday (Oct. 3) at 5 p.m., men's soccer takes on the Lions of Piedmont University at Panther field in a CCS match.
The Matchup
The Panthers are 4-5-1 (2-1 in CCS play) so far this season. Senior Enrique Hernandez still leads the team in points (18) with eight goals and two assists. He is followed by sophomore Matthew Webb who has 12 points with three goals and six assists. Piedmont is 3-5-3 (1-0 in the CCS) and are coming off of a 3-6 Sewanee loss (Oct. 1). Freshman Davis Knight, a LaGrange hometown kid, leads the Lions in points (16) with seven goals and two assists. The last time the two teams played, the Panthers won a tight 1-0 game on Oct. 11, 2022. The only team both squads have played so far this season is Oglethorpe. The Panthers dropped that game 0-3 and the Lions lost 0-4. While previous games do not translate to wins and losses, it does allow fans to compare the teams based off of the same competition. This CCS match will be a tough game for Panthers, so come out and cheer on the LC student-athletes.
