The Panthers head back to Kentucky for the CCS post-season tournament to take on Berea this Wednesday (Oct. 25) at 6 p.m.
The matchup
The Panthers are 6-8-1 (3-3 CCS) and are coming off of a 5-2 win over Warren Wilson (Oct. 21). Senior Enrique Hernandez leads the Panthers in points with an incredible 25 off of 10 goals and five assists. Sophomore Matthew Webb follows Hernandez in points with 15. He has three goals and nine assists in 2023. In the twelve games played, junior Andrew Cole has posted a superb .736 save percentage in goal. The Bears are 6-10-1 (3-3 CCS) and most recently lost to Covenant College 1-0. (Oct. 21). Joshua Szidik leads the Bears in points with 17 off of six goals and five assists. The last time the two teams played, the Bears won 3-1 (Oct. 7, 2023).
What to watch for
This season, the Panthers are 1-6-1 on the road. If LC wants to win and advance to the semifinals, they must shake off the travel woes and take their best game to the Bears. Watch for how the team comes out against this solid Berea team. If they sleepwalk off of the bus, then the Panthers will be sleepwalking back home with a loss. Hernandez has shown his ability to make big plays and score, while Webb has constantly set his teammates up in scoring positions. If this dynamic duo can play well, then the Panthers can win this game.
When and where to watch
