LaGrange split a non-conference doubleheader with visiting Wesleyan on Saturday. The Panthers took the first game 6-3 and Wesleyan won the second game 7-4.
Dani Gravett pitched and hit the Panthers (5-1) past the Wolves (1-5) in the first game. She went the distance on the mound and hit her second home run of the season at the plate.
Leading 2-0, the Panthers went up 6-0 with a four-run fourth inning. Kalin Oglesby drove in the first run with a single, then Gravett followed with her home run, a three-run blast to left field.
Wesleyan got two of the runs back in the fifth and one more in the sixth for the 6-3 final. Only one of the runs charged to Gravett was earned.
The Panthers had 10 hits in the game. Gravett, Christy Flick and Danielle Newbern each had two hits.
The Wolves jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning of the second game off starter Olivia Wolfe. They added two more runs in the fourth to up their lead to 7-0.
The Panthers got two runs in each of the sixth and seventh innings. They finished the game with 11 hits. Gravett had three hits, while Lindsey Hogan, Alison Jiles and Adrienne Little each had two hits. Hogan had a triple included in her hits.
The Panthers play at Agnes Scott on Wednesday.
