ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - Olivia Wolfe led LaGrange to a 7-1 win over Huntingdon in the opening game of the USA South Tournament on Friday at the Rocky Mount Sports Complex.
Wolfe threw a complete game 1-hitter on the mound; striking out nine and walking three. At the plate, the senior hit her fourth home run of the season.
The Panthers had 12 hits in the game, with five players having two apiece.
The Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Emily Barrs had a two-run double in the inning.
Over the next three innings the Panthers built a 7-0 lead. Danielle Newbern had an RBI double in the second and Wolfe led off the fourth with her home run.
The Panthers (20-13) will face top-seeded Averett at 1 p.m. on Friday.
