LaGrange outlasted Agnes Scott 65-51 in a GSAC game before a near-capacity crowd at Mariotti Gymnasium Friday night. The win upped the Panthers' record to 9-0 overall and 4-0 in the GSAC. The Scotties dropped to 3-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
The game was part of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association "Pink Zone". The Pink Zone is an initiative through the WBCA, to raise awareness of breast cancer and funding for research.
Katie Covington led the Panthers with 15 points. Elizabeth Williams had a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. Heather Miller also had 11 points. Holli Vann pulled down a game and career-high 14 rebounds.
Genefine Sapateh led Agnes Scott with a double-double of a game-high 18 points and 13 rebounds. Tiffany Jones added seven points.
Agnes Scott held the Panthers to their lowest scoring output of the season. The Panthers shot 33.3 percent from the floor in the game. They were 17-of-26 at the free throw line. The Panthers out rebounded the Scotties 55-43 in the game.
The Panthers held Agnes Scott to 32.8 percent shooting in the game. The Scotties were 5-of-12 at the free throw line.
The Panthers led 38-26 at haltime. They led by as many as 19 late in the game. The Panthers led for all but the first two minutes of the game.
The Panthers host Rust on Saturday in a non-conference game at 2 p.m.
