MONTGOMERY, Ala. - LaGrange's season ended with a 76-70 loss to Piedmont in the semifinals of the GSAC Championship Tournament at Roland Arena on Friday.
The Panthers finished the season 20-5, losing to Piedmont for the second straight year in the tournament semifinals. The Lady Lions (19-8) will face Agnes Scott in the championship game Saturday.
Katie Covington was the only Panther in double figures. Covington had a game-high 30 points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Stefanie Schuck followed Covington with nine points.
Sada Wheeler led Piedmont with 15 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Shanice Wheeler had 13 points, Keiondria Thompson 12 and Amber Satterfield 10.
The Panthers led 37-36 at halftime. The Panthers shot 40.3 percent in the game. Piedmont shot 41.5 percent for the game after shooting 51.9 percent in the game.
