ATLANTA, Ga. - Oglethorpe turned back LaGrange 11-8 on Wednesday night in a non-conference game. The loss left LC at 1-4, while the Stormy Petrels improved to 4-3.
Tareyon Delgado had a game-high four goals to lead the Panthers. Ben Bryan and Isaac Fuller each had two goals. Bryan and Robert Hunt each had two assists.
Oglethorpe never trailed in the game. The Petrels led 2-0 before Delgado's first goal of the game cut the deficit in half. Delgado added a second goal later in the period as Oglethorpe led 5-2. The Stormy Petrels were held to a single goal in the second period as Fuller and Delgado each got a goal to make it 6-4 at halftime.
The Petrels built a 10-5 lead early in the final period. The Panthers scored three of the final four goals for the 11-8 final. Bryan, Fuller, and Delgaod each had a goal in the period.
Isaac Bohrer had 16 saves in goal for LC. Oglethorpe had an 18-4 advantage in face offs. The Petrels had 28 ground balls to LC's 13.
The Panthers host Tennessee Wesleyan on Friday in Callaway Stadium at 6 p.m.
