Message from Assistant Director of Sports Information Trevor Wenners: We will be featuring our outstanding student-athletes with a standout-performer series. On every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from June 1 – July 6, we will highlight one special person from LaGrange College athletics. Every Panther program will be featured once during the series. You can see these stories on our Panthers' athletic website or through our social-media accounts on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
The LaGrange College men's lacrosse team saw numerous student-athletes rise to the occasion during its inaugural season in 2020. Freshman Robert Hunt was one that separated himself from the pack.
Hunt, who is originally from New Port Richey, Florida, posted 11 goals, 12 assists and 23 points in eight games. He led the team in assists and was tied for first in points, while ranking third in goals. The 12 assists were tied for the sixth most in the USA South.

Hunt was the first player to earn a weekly conference award in program history, grabbing USA South Rookie of the Week honors on Feb. 17.
The 5-foot-9 midfielder put 29 of his 40 shots on target, resulting in an impressive .725 shots-on-goal percentage. Hunt registered at least one point in 7-of-8 games and recorded a pair of hat tricks.
During the Panthers' home opener on Feb. 14 at Callaway Stadium, the first-year collegiate player poured in three goals and two assists during an 18-11 victory over Centenary (La.). The win was the first in program history and Hunt scored two crucial goals in the second quarter, as LaGrange took a 9-5 lead into halftime.
The driven student-athlete was the complete package during LaGrange's second-ever win, recording three goals and four assists during a 23-2 triumph over visiting Johnson & Wales University (Denver) on March 5.
The four assists and seven points were career highs for Hunt, while the three goals tied a personal record. Hunt's four assists were also tied for the most in a single game by any Panther during the 2020 season.
On Feb. 16, Hunt finished with two goals and three assists during a 14-9 loss to Hendrix at Callaway Stadium. Hunt tallied two assists at Oglethorpe on Feb. 26, and then found the back of the net twice against visiting Tennessee Wesleyan on Feb. 28.
