STAUNTON, Va. - LaGrange swept a USA South doubleheader from Mary Baldwin on Monday.
The Panthers (12-4, 5-3 USA South) won the first game 10-2, then needed only five innings to win the second game 12-1.
Olivia Wolfe had a three-run home run and pitched 5-1/3 innings to get the win in the first game. Keeley Murray drove in three runs in the second game with a pair of hits.
Wolfe staked the Panthers to a 3-0 lead in the first game with her second home run in as many days and second of the season.
The Panthers added a run in both the second and third innings to build a 5-2 lead. They broke the game open with three runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
Danielle Newbern had run-scoring singles in both innings. Christy Flick had a two-run base hit in the sixth. Alison Jiles drove in the final two runs for the Panthers with a double.
The Panthers finished with 15 hits. Flick, Newbern and Dani Gravett each had three hits. Gravett scored three runs.
The Panthers scored three runs in the first and three more in the third to go up 6-0 in the second game.
In the fourth, the Panthers batted around in putting six runs across the plate for a 12-0 lead. Murray had a two-run single and Amanda Morier capped the inniing with a two-run double.
Kara Patterson got the win, pitching all five innings. She allowed the one run on six hits, walking one and striking out two.
The Panthers host nationally-ranked Piedmont on Wednesday in a USA South doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
