ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - Huntingdon won a pitcher's duel with LaGrange at the USA South tournament Saturday at the Rocky Mount Sports Complex. The Hawks advanced to Sunday's championship game with a 2-0 win over the Panthers (22-13).
The Panthers will face Piedmont, who they defeated 4-0 earlier in the tournament, on Sunday at 10 a.m. The winner faces Huntingdon and will have to win twice to claim the championship.
Huntingdon's Brooke Meadows held the Panthers to four hits. Olivia Wolfe went the distance for the Panthers, also allowing four hits. Wolfe gave up the two runs, but only one was earned.
Danielle Newbern had two of the Panthers' four hits.
