BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The LaGrange softball team opened its 2019 season with 8-0 and 10-0 losses to Birmingham-Southern.
McKenzie Brunel, Caroline Harkness, and Taylor Long each had a hit in the first game. Long also had two stolen bases. Emsley Smith (0-1) pitched five innings and gave up four runs in taking the loss.
In the second game, Sydney Daugherty had LC's only hit. Payton Thomas (0-1) allowed all 10 runs, seven earned in three innings. Smith threw a scoreless inning of relief.
The Panthers host Meredith on Saturday and William Peace on Sunday.
