LaGrange finished a sweep of Sewanee in its opening two-game series with a 16-4 win at Cleaveland Field in Williamson Stadium on Sunday.
The Panthers (2-0) pounded out 17 hits in the game. Blake Butcher went 5-for-5 with three doubles and two RBIs. Chad Pigg drove in three runs with a home run and a double. In the first two games, LC has scored 26 runs and had 29 hits.
Andrew Weekley (1-0) pitched five innings to pick up the victory. He allowed a first inning run, then threw four scoreless innings. Weekley gave up four hits, walked two, and struck out four.
The Panthers chased Sewanee starter Lee Harrison with a four-run third inning. Pigg's double drove in two of the runs in the inning.
LaGrange broke open the game with six runs in the fifth to go up 11-1. Pigg opened the inning with his first collegiate home run.
LC will host Berry on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
