Senior third baseman Blake Butcher is the USA South Baseball Player of the Week for the week ending March 19.
Butcher was 9-for-15 (.600) with a .600 on-base percentage and a 1.133 slugging percentage to go along with five runs scored, seven RBIs, four doubles and two triples to help lead the No. 5 Panthers to a 3-0 week. In an 11-1 win over Stevens Institute, Butcher was 3-for-5 with two runs scored, an RBI and two doubles. In a doubleheader sweep of Averett, he went 6-for-10 in the two games with three runs scored, six RBIs, two doubles and two triples. For the season, Butcher is batting .362 with three home runs and 21 RBIs.
