Senior designated hitter Casey Bell is the USA South Player of the Week for the week ending March 5. This is the second time this season Bell has earned the honor.
In helping the 16th-ranked Panthers to a 3-1 week, Bell was 10-for-20 (.500) with a .500 on-base percentage and .750 slugging percentage. He scored six runs, drove in nine runs, had two doubles, and a home run. In an 8-4 win at Oglethorpe, Bell was 4-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBIs, a double and a sacrifice hit. In a three-game USA South series at Piedmont, Bell was a combined 6-for-15 with four runs scored, seven RBIs, a double and a grand slam home run, the second of his collegiate career. For the season, Bell is tied for the team lead with three home runs and is leading the USA South with 24 RBIs.
