LaGrange moved up to second in one national Division III Top 25 poll and remained third in another as released Tuesday.
The Panthers (35-4) are second in the D3baseball.com/NACBA poll. They received 10 first place votes and 591 total points. Shenandoah (27-3) remained on top, getting 12 first place votes and 597 total points. LC stayed third in the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball poll, receiving four first place votes. Wisconsin-Whiterwater (20-3) is top-ranked in the poll, followed by Shenandoah, and the Panthers.
LaGrange is coming off a 4-0 week, winning the USA South Tournament championship. It was the first tournament title for the Panthers since joining the conference in 2012. LC also won conference regular season and tournament championships for the first time since 2010 when the Panthers were members of the Great South Athletic Conference.
The Panthers close out the regular season with a three-game series at Cleaveland Field in Williamson Stadium against USA South foe Greensboro. The games do not count in the conference standings. The two teams play a doubleheader Saturday, then close out the weekend series Sunday. Sunday's game is Senior Day for 14 Panthers. Game time for the first game Saturday and for Sunday's game is 2 p.m.
