Rising senior Zach English threw a no-hitter recently for the Piedmont Pride of the Southern Collegiate Baseball League.
English needed only 98 pitches to beat the Vipers 9-0. He walked only two and struck out six in the win. English retired the first 13 batters he faced before walking two straight in the fifth inning. He retired the final eight batters, striking out four of those.
English is 2-1 for the summer. He has allowed only one unearned run in 17 innings of work. English has walked four and struck out 19 in three starts.
